CityHouse is a social impact organization that provides hope & renewal to homeless single mothers and their children.

Founded in 2014, we are a long-term, supportive, transformational living program. One of our fundamental principles is to maintain communication with our supporters. We invite you to experience the journey of our work through the stories captured in the CityHouse Chronicles. We hope that you feel more engaged with the mission and come to know the families that call CityHouse their home.

Volunteer Opportunities

Childcare

We are looking for loving, caring caregivers who can commit time to watch the CityHouse children while the mothers work, go to doctor's appointments, or attend enrichment classes. This volunteer opportunity requires a background screening.

City Pantry

Volunteers are needed to help restock and organize the CityHouse pantry with essential items such as cleaning products, paper products, pullups, feminine hygiene products, and laundry detergent.

Cook Meals

Volunteers are needed to drop off a warm meal for a CityHouse family. As our mother's balance work and school, they do not have the time and energy to make a healthy meal. Any meal is greatly appreciated.

Restore

"I feel as though I am on the brink of stabilizing my life for me and my baby. I'm beyond happy that I have somewhere safe to be with my child. May God be with us as I do all that I can with the help of CityHouse to solidify my stability. I want to have a better hold of my depression, to find a good rhythm in life and to steadily work towards my financial and parenting goals. I just received my medical billing and coding certification, and I am working towards getting my certification in medical sonography. I have hope again."

Renew

"I have been feeling more positive about my family's future. These past couple of weeks have been tough for my family but I am learning about boundaries and taking care of my mental health. This season, I have been focusing on making the Lord the center of my family. I still feel lonely and isolated, but I know I have peace because of God's presence. I am in the process of becoming a church member then planning on becoming a Sunday school teacher so I can teach other children about God. I am grateful for developing a better relationship with the one who provides everything for us."

Hope

"It is very good to be given a second chance in life and that is what I am enjoying as we keep building the future. It was a great way of starting over one day at a time trying to pick up what was left undone. New hope...new life...new dreams and a lifetime of love. I have been allowed to live and pursue happiness and it's amazing. I view my family's future as successful, loving, hardworking, very helpful and kind. By faith, we develop more patience, and we continue to grow each day. Thank you for this opportunity for my family as it is a huge blessing."

Kid's Update

"It has been a struggle to watch my daughter battle with her health. I take it one day at a time and try to get through it. I am thankful for CityHouse to guide me through this difficult season. She has surgery coming up and I pray that it would be successful and the road to recovery and experience normalcy. I do see a light at the end of the tunnel. I just need to keep pushing."

Alumni Update

"God has blessed my life completely! I am coming up to two years in a home that I have purchased. I am also celebrating my one-year anniversary with my amazing husband and expecting a baby girl over the summer! My other kids are doing amazing at school. I am very grateful!"
